HOW TO USE

How to Use KATAPATA

Follow the workflow from body measurements to an adjustable sewing sloper, browser saving, individual paid-sloper purchase, and printable full-size, A4 tiled, or US Letter tiled PDFs.

BEFORE YOU START

Prepare your measurements and device

MEASUREMENTS

Measure carefully

Prepare bust, waist, hip, back length, sleeve length, and any other measurements required for the sloper you want to create.

BROWSER

Use a current browser

KATAPATA runs in a web browser. Keep your browser updated for the most reliable operation.

DEVICE

PC recommended

Mobile devices can be used, but a larger PC screen makes detailed adjustment and full-sloper review easier.

Save your working data before making major changes. A saved KATAPATA data file is different from a PDF and can be reloaded for further editing.
WORKFLOW

Eight stages from measurements to output

01MEASUREMENTS
Screen: Measurements

Enter your body measurements

Enter the measurements requested for the pieces you plan to create.

  • Enter bust, waist, back length, and sleeve length for bodice and sleeve slopers.
  • Enter hip measurement when creating skirt or pants slopers.
  • Choose centimeters or inches where available.
Check each number before generating the sloper. A typing error can noticeably change the result.
02TOPS ADJUSTMENT
Screen: Tops Adjustment

Review and adjust the bodice and sleeve

Generate the basic bodice and sleeve slopers, then move available adjustment points to refine the shape.

  • Review the front and back bodice balance.
  • Adjust shoulders, armholes, bust point, waist, and other available areas.
  • Adjust the sleeve cap and sleeve width while checking the overall shape.
Use small adjustments and review the complete sloper after each change.
03BOTTOMS ADJUSTMENT
Screen: Bottoms Adjustment

Review and adjust a skirt or pants sloper

When creating a bottom sloper, review the generated skirt or pants shape and make the available adjustments. Skip this stage when you only need the basic bodice and sleeve slopers.

  • Check waist and hip balance.
  • Review the front and back pieces together.
  • The skirt sloper is ¥300.
  • The pants sloper is ¥300.
You can create, adjust, and preview the skirt or pants sloper before purchasing it. Purchase is required only when exporting the printable paid-sloper PDF.
04DART TRANSFER
Screen: Dart Transfer

Choose dart positions and distribution

Move the front or back bodice dart intake to selected positions when you need a dart-transfer sloper for pattern development.

  • Front and back dart-transfer settings are handled separately.
  • Choose the transfer positions and set the distribution.
  • The front dart-transfer sloper is ¥400.
  • The back dart-transfer sloper is ¥400.
You can preview and adjust the transferred dart shape before purchase. Front and back dart-transfer slopers are separate products.
05CONFIRM
Screen: Confirm

Review the finished slopers

Review the basic bodice, sleeve, dart-transfer, skirt, and pants slopers. Paid slopers can still be previewed at this stage without purchasing.

  • Check the front and back bodice and sleeve shapes.
  • Preview any dart-transfer or bottom slopers you created.
  • Return to an earlier stage when further adjustment is needed.
  • Continue only after the sloper data is finalized.
Each paid purchase applies to one finalized and saved sloper data set. Changing measurements or adjustments later creates a different data set.
06BROWSER SAVE
Screen: Confirm → Output

Save to the browser before output

Select “Save This Data and Continue to PDF Output.” KATAPATA saves the current sloper data in the browser before opening the output screen or sending you to Checkout.

  • The finalized pre-output data is stored in the browser.
  • After reloading the page, select “Resume from Browser” to restore it.
  • Browser resume works on the same device and browser.
  • Also keep a downloaded KATAPATA data file as a backup.
Browser-stored data may be lost if browser history or site data is cleared. A downloaded KATAPATA data file is the safer long-term backup.
07PURCHASE
Screen: Output

Purchase only the paid sloper you need

Preview the paid sloper on the output screen, then select the matching product card and choose “Proceed to Purchase.” Stripe Checkout opens in a separate tab or window.

  • Front dart transfer, back dart transfer, skirt, and pants are separate products.
  • You do not need to purchase paid slopers you do not want.
  • After payment, KATAPATA returns and marks only the purchased product as purchased.
  • No KATAPATA account is required.
If Checkout does not reopen after you leave without purchasing, reload the KATAPATA page, select “Resume from Browser,” restore the saved data, and try “Proceed to Purchase” again.
08PDF OUTPUT
Screen: Output

Export the PDF format you need

Basic front and back bodice slopers and the sleeve sloper can be exported for free. Paid slopers can be exported after the matching product has been purchased.

  • Use the full-size PDF for large-format printing or a print service.
  • Use the A4 tiled PDF for A4 paper.
  • Use the US Letter tiled PDF for US Letter paper.
  • Purchased slopers can be exported again from saved purchased data.
Keep both the editable KATAPATA data file and the final PDF. A PDF cannot restore the sloper for further editing.
SAVED DATA AND PDF

Choose the correct file for your purpose

BROWSER SAVE

For returning to the output flow

The browser save stores the finalized pre-output data on the same device and browser. Use “Resume from Browser” after reloading the page.

KATAPATA DATA FILE

For backup, reopening, and editing

A downloaded KATAPATA data file stores the editable working state. Keep it as a backup and reload it when you want to continue or export again.

PDF

For printing

A PDF is the printable output. It cannot restore the sloper for further editing inside KATAPATA.

PDF OUTPUT

Three output formats

Full-size PDF

A single large page for large-format printers or professional print services.

A4 Tiled PDF

Divided across A4 sheets for printers using A4 paper.

US Letter Tiled PDF

Divided across US Letter sheets, commonly used in the United States and Canada.

Print at 100% / Actual Size

Match the PDF format to the paper loaded in your printer: A4 PDF with A4 paper, or US Letter PDF with US Letter paper. Do not select “Fit to Page,” “Scale to Fit,” or similar automatic scaling options. Measure the printed test scale before assembling the pages.
