Use Your Sloper
as the Foundation for Your Next Pattern.

creates basic slopers from your measurements and lets you adjust their shape on screen. The slopers you create can be used as a foundation for developing patterns for blouses, dresses, jackets, and many other garments.

01
BASIC SLOPER

Create a Basic Sloper from Your Own Measurements

Enter measurements such as bust or chest, waist, hip, and back length to automatically create basic front and back bodice slopers.

For the sleeve sloper, you can review and adjust sleeve length, sleeve-cap height, and the balance between the sleeve cap and bodice armhole.

Rather than using the automatically generated shape as-is, you can fine-tune areas such as the shoulder, neckline, and armhole on screen to bring the sloper closer to a shape that suits you.

By making a toile or test garment and adjusting the sloper again when needed, you can keep it as your own basic foundation for future patternmaking.

02
DART TRANSFER

Transfer Darts

Basic darts can be transferred to positions such as the shoulder, neckline, armhole, or waist. You can move the dart intake to one position or divide it among several positions.

Enter the distribution on screen and KATAPATA automatically calculates the closed and newly opened portions, allowing you to review the new outline. You can also drag adjustment points to fine-tune where the dart opens.

Changing dart positions while preserving the basic fit gives you a useful foundation for developing patterns to suit different designs.

SKIRT SLOPER

Create a Skirt Sloper

In the Women’s Sloper Tool, you can create a basic skirt sloper from your waist and hip measurements.

Set the skirt length and review or adjust the front and back waistlines, hip curves, darts, and other areas on screen.

KATAPATA’s skirt sloper has a plain silhouette, making it suitable as a foundation for developing styles such as flared skirts and A-line skirts.

04
PANTS SLOPER

Create a Pants Sloper

Set measurements such as pants length and rise, then review and adjust the front and back waist, hip, crotch curve, hem width, and other areas.

You can also compare the front and back pieces to check corresponding seam lengths and how the curves connect.

KATAPATA’s pants sloper has a standard silhouette, making it suitable as a foundation for developing a variety of pants styles.

05
SAVE YOUR BASE

Save the Adjusted Sloper as Your Own Basic Sloper

Your measurements and adjustments can be saved as KATAPATA data.

After checking the fit with a toile or test garment, you can adjust and save the sloper again so it becomes a reusable foundation for your own patternmaking.

Load the saved data back into KATAPATA whenever you want to continue adjusting the sloper or export another PDF.

BEFORE SEWING

Before Using Your Sloper

A KATAPATA sloper is not a finished garment pattern that can simply be sewn as-is.

Before cutting your final fabric, check the finished sloper measurements and make a toile or test garment to review comfort and overall balance.
