WHAT IS KATAPATA?

A simpler starting point for custom patternmaking

SLOPER TOOL

Create a custom basic sloper

Enter bust, waist, back length, sleeve length, and other measurements to generate front and back bodice slopers and a sleeve sloper.

You can then fine-tune key points on screen before saving your working data or exporting a printable PDF.

DESIGNED FOR SEWING

A foundation for your own patterns

A sloper, also called a basic block, is a close-fitting foundation used to develop garment patterns.

KATAPATA helps you create that starting shape. It does not automatically turn the sloper into a finished blouse, dress, skirt, or pants pattern.

SLOPER VS. GARMENT PATTERN

What KATAPATA creates—and what it does not

KATAPATA CREATES

A sewing sloper / basic block

A close-fitting foundation pattern based on your measurements.

  • Basic bodice sloper
  • Sleeve sloper
  • Front and back dart-transfer slopers
  • Skirt and pants slopers
ADDITIONAL PATTERNMAKING IS REQUIRED

A finished garment pattern

To make a garment, the sloper must be developed for the chosen design.

  • Add design ease
  • Change necklines and silhouettes
  • Add collars, facings, plackets, or pockets
  • Add seam allowances and construction details
Before cutting your final fabric, we recommend making a test garment and checking the fit. Body measurements alone cannot account for every posture, proportion, and personal fit preference.
DEVICES

Works in a browser, with PC recommended

Smartphone and tablet

Measurement entry and basic operation are available on supported mobile devices. The interface is designed to remain usable on smaller screens.

PC recommended

A larger screen makes it easier to view the full sloper, compare pieces, and perform detailed adjustments.
