A sloper is a basic foundation used to create patterns for blouses, dresses, jackets, and other garments. A garment pattern is developed from the sloper by adding the ease and design lines required for the style, along with elements such as collars, sleeves, seams, and tucks.

No. KATAPATA slopers include the ease required for a basic sloper, so the finished sloper measurements are not exactly the same as the body measurements you enter.

Please also check the finished sloper measurements before exporting the PDF.

Even when two people have the same measurements, posture, shoulder slope, and body depth can differ. Review the automatically generated shape and adjust the necessary areas on screen.

Before cutting your final fabric, we recommend making a toile or test garment to check comfort and overall balance.

No. Seam allowances are not included. When making a garment, develop the sloper into a pattern for your design and add the required seam allowances.

Yes. Kids’ Sloper Tools are available for 110 cm, 140 cm girls, and 140 cm boys. Available pieces and adjustment options vary by tool.

Yes. You can enter measurements, adjust slopers, save data, and export PDFs in a browser on a smartphone or tablet.

However, we recommend using a PC with a larger screen for reviewing the entire sloper and making detailed adjustments.

No. Open the KATAPATA Sloper Tool in your browser and use it directly.

Yes. The display language can be switched between Japanese and English, and measurements can be entered in centimeters or inches. Check the selected language and unit before entering your measurements.

Please use a current version of a modern web browser. Older browsers may cause display or PDF export problems.

If you continue on the same device and browser, you can use “Resume from Browser.”

Browser-stored data may be deleted if you clear browser history or site data, so we also recommend saving a KATAPATA data file for long-term storage.

Yes. Save a KATAPATA data file and load it into KATAPATA on another device to continue working.

The Women’s, Men’s, Kids’ 110 cm, Kids’ 140 cm Girls, and Kids’ 140 cm Boys Sloper Tools are free to use, including sloper generation, on-screen adjustments, saving your work, and PDF export.

Available pieces and functions such as dart transfer vary by tool.

No. You do not need to create an account or enter payment information to use the sloper-making features.

No. Available pieces differ by tool. The Women’s Sloper Tool includes bodice, sleeve, skirt, and pants slopers. The Men’s Sloper Tool includes bodice, sleeve, and pants slopers.

Kids’ tools are available for 110 cm, 140 cm girls, and 140 cm boys. Available pieces and adjustment options differ between these tools, so follow the workflow shown at the top of the tool you are using.

A KATAPATA data file stores your measurements and adjustments for later editing. Load it back into KATAPATA to continue or make further changes.

A PDF is the printable output of the finished sloper.

No. A PDF cannot be returned to the KATAPATA adjustment screen or used to restore an editable sloper. If you may want to make further adjustments, save the KATAPATA data file as well.

We recommend saving both the KATAPATA data file and the PDF. Browser-stored data may disappear if you clear browser history or site data.

Set the print scale to “Actual Size,” “100%,” or the equivalent option with no scaling. Do not use “Fit to Page,” “Scale to Fit,” automatic shrinking, or similar options, because they may change the sloper size.

Print the test scale first and confirm that it measures correctly before printing all pages.

Yes. Print the A4 tiled PDF on A4 paper, the A3 tiled PDF on A3 paper, and the Letter tiled PDF on US Letter paper. Match the paper size selected for the PDF with the paper loaded in your printer.

The ZIP download contains PDFs of your generated pattern pieces in full-size, A4 tiled, A3 tiled, and US Letter tiled formats. It lets you save them together without downloading each piece and format separately.

Extract the ZIP file before opening the PDFs, then choose the format that matches your printing method.

No. A sloper is the foundation used to create a garment pattern. It needs to be developed for your design and have seam allowances added before you make the garment.

Yes. Darts can be moved to the shoulder, neckline, armhole, waist, and other available positions. You can gather the dart intake into one position or divide it among several positions.

Yes. The Women’s Sloper Tool can create skirt and pants slopers, and the Men’s Sloper Tool can create a pants sloper.

Available bottom pieces differ between the Kids’ 110 cm, 140 cm Girls, and 140 cm Boys tools. Check the skirt or pants steps shown in the tool you are using.

KATAPATA CAD is being considered and explored as a future tool for developing KATAPATA slopers into garment patterns for blouses, dresses, and other designs. No release date has been decided.
