KATAPATA FAQ

KATAPATA creates sewing slopers, also called basic blocks, from body measurements. The free tool currently focuses on basic front and back bodice slopers and a sleeve sloper.

No. A sloper is a close-fitting foundation used to develop garment patterns. To create a blouse, dress, skirt, or pants pattern, you still need to add design ease, style lines, construction details, and seam allowances as required.

Yes. We recommend making a test garment before cutting your final fabric. Measurements alone cannot account for every posture, proportion, and personal fit preference.

No KATAPATA account or payment is required for these free features.

All listed prices include tax. Each purchase includes full-size, A4 tiled, and US Letter tiled PDF export for the purchased sloper data.

Yes. You can create, adjust, and preview a dart-transfer, skirt, or pants sloper before purchasing it.

Purchase is required only when you want to export that paid sloper as a printable PDF.

Finalize the sloper, then choose “Save This Data and Continue to PDF Output.” On the output screen, select the matching product card and choose “Proceed to Purchase.”

Stripe Checkout opens in a separate tab or window. After payment, KATAPATA returns and marks only the purchased product as purchased.

No. Each purchase applies to one finalized and saved sloper data set at the time of purchase.

It does not provide unlimited creation or export of every future sloper of the same type.

Yes. Each of the four paid slopers is a separate product. You only need to purchase the specific sloper you want to export.

Yes. Restore the purchased data by loading the saved KATAPATA data file or by selecting “Resume from Browser” when the data is still stored in the same browser.

You can then export the purchased sloper again as a full-size, A4 tiled, or US Letter tiled PDF.

Changing measurements, adjustment points, or dart-transfer settings creates a different sloper data set.

To export the changed paid sloper as a printable PDF, purchase the matching product again for the new finalized data.

Reload the KATAPATA page, select “Resume from Browser,” restore the saved pre-output data, and then choose “Proceed to Purchase” again.

Do not purchase the same product again immediately. First reload KATAPATA and select “Resume from Browser.”

If the product is still not marked as purchased, contact KATAPATA with the product name, payment date and time, and a description of what appeared on the screen.

No. Paid slopers are individual one-time purchases for the finalized sloper data being purchased. There is no KATAPATA subscription for these products.

Yes. Measurement entry and basic operation are available on supported mobile devices. However, a PC is recommended for reviewing the full sloper and making detailed adjustments.

Use a current version of a modern web browser. Keeping the browser updated helps avoid display and file-handling problems.

KATAPATA includes centimeter and inch input where available. Check the selected unit before entering or reviewing measurements.

A larger screen makes it easier to compare front, back, and sleeve pieces, view the full drafting area, and make small adjustments accurately.

Before the output and purchase flow, KATAPATA stores the finalized sloper data in the same browser.

After reloading the page, select “Resume from Browser” to restore that saved pre-output data.

It is a downloadable working-data file used to reopen the sloper inside KATAPATA. Save it when you want to continue adjusting, move the work to another device, or export a purchased sloper again later.

No. A PDF is for printing. It cannot restore the editable sloper inside KATAPATA.

Keep the KATAPATA data file as well as the final PDF when the project or purchased sloper is important.

Yes. Move the downloaded KATAPATA data file to another supported device and load it there.

Browser-stored data does not automatically move to another device, so use the downloaded data file for transferring or long-term backup.

After purchase, download and keep the KATAPATA data file that contains the purchased state.

This provides a safer backup than relying only on browser storage, especially if you change devices or clear browser data.

A full-size PDF places the sloper on one large page for a large-format printer or professional print service.

An A4 tiled PDF divides the full-size sloper across A4 sheets.

A US Letter tiled PDF divides it across US Letter sheets, commonly used in the United States and Canada.

Choose the format that matches the paper loaded in your printer: A4 PDF with A4 paper, or US Letter PDF with US Letter paper. The two paper sizes have different proportions and should not be interchanged.

Print at 100% / Actual Size. Do not select “Fit to Page,” “Scale to Fit,” or similar automatic scaling options.

Check the following:

• The correct paper size is loaded.
• The PDF format matches the paper size.
• Print scale is set to 100% or Actual Size.
• Automatic page fitting is turned off.

KATAPATA CAD is a future concept for developing garment patterns from saved KATAPATA slopers on a larger PC workspace.

A release date has not been decided. The design, functions, and development plan are still being explored.
